Rooted in Love and
Healed through Connection

Get to know me...

Tinneca Fortin
Somatic Therapist

I began my professional journey over 20 years ago as a community midwife, where I had the privilege of witnessing hundreds of births and the profound resilience of the human spirit. Along the way, I became increasingly curious about something beyond the birth experience itself: the ways stress, trauma, and life experiences continue to live within the body long after an event has passed.

That curiosity led me into the study of somatic healing, trauma resolution, embodiment, and the relationship between people and the natural world.

Then, in 2015, my husband and I founded an outdoor nature school on our organic farm and forest land. Years spent working with children outdoors deepened my understanding of something I had already begun to sense: nature has an extraordinary capacity to support regulation, reflection, connection, and healing.

Today, my work brings these paths together.

I offer a nature-based, somatic approach to trauma healing that honors the wisdom of the body, the restorative power of the natural world, and each person's innate capacity for growth and transformation. Sessions may include somatic awareness practices such as Somatic Experiencing, expressive arts, sandplay, movement, bodywork, or simply slowing down enough to listen to what is asking for attention.

I believe regulation and healing reemerges through curiosity, relationship, attentive presence, and learning to trust the wisdom already living within us.

It is my honor to have a practice that lives alongside a sanctuary rooted in nature—where sessions may unfold indoors in a cozy cabin or outside on the farm or in the forest. It depends on what the body calls for.

Wherever we begin, the invitation is the same: to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with yourself, the body, and the living world around you.

With Love and Gratitude,

Tinneca

welcome

Welcome to Rooted in Love.

This somatic therapy practice is nestled in the heart of nature and shaped by attuned presence, relationship, and deep listening to the body.

I work with children, teens, and adults who are living with stress, trauma, anxiety, chronic tension, or who find themselves at tender points of change. This work can be especially supportive for those who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or who have not found relief through more traditional approaches.

Together, we listen for what is asking for attention, allowing safety, regulation, and resilience to grow over time.

Healing here is not about fixing or forcing change. It is about building trust with the body and nervous system, honoring their timing, and creating the conditions for something new to take root.
